From Local Hero to Olympic Medalist
St. Lucia had never seen an athlete quite like Julien Alfred. Her breakthrough moment came when she qualified for the Olympics, a dream that many aspire to but few achieve. Julien didn’t just participate; she excelled, clinching the gold medal at Paris Olympics 2024 in the Women’s 100m. Putting St. Lucia on the global sports map and becoming the first and only medal winner for the small island. Alfred would also win silver in the Women’s 200m.
