Experience Exceptional Turtle Watching in Tobago
A leap of faith is all it takes
Turtle Watching in Tobago
Tobago is one of the world’s premier turtle watching destinations. The island is home to three major species of sea turtles, the giant leatherback, green, and hawksbill, all of which are found worldwide and return to Tobago’s shore to lay their eggs.
Turtle nesting season lasts from January to September, with the months from March to August being the busiest. You won’t want to miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime encounter if you visit Tobago during this period.
On Turtle Beach, Stonehaven Beach, Grafton Beach, Grange Bay, Back Bay, Starwood Bay, and Castara Bay observe turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. It is an awe-inspiring sight.
Turtles are one of the world’s most endangered species, and as such, they are subject to strict protection and monitoring in Tobago. Guides will always be available to provide guidance on rules and appropriate behaviour.
