National Trust Cayman Islands

The National Trust for the Cayman Islands was established in 1987 with the purpose to preserve natural environments and places of historic significance for present and future generations of the Cayman Islands.

Key areas of focus:

  1. Environment: Our priority for Cayman’s natural environment is the establishment of a system of protected areas. These natural sites are essential for the survival of native plant and animal species.
  2. History: Through the preservation of historic sites in the Cayman Islands, we safeguard our unique heritage.
  3. Education: Adults and children alike are exposed to Cayman’s natural environment and heritage through lectures and a dedicated student programme.
  4. Conservation: Scientific field research allows us to study and further our knowledge of Cayman’s native and indigenous species and to protect the habitats in which they live.
